// About

The DC Music Pub serves local DC music by the pint. We’re your “local” on the interwebs for live music recommendations, local album releases, interviews with local artists and music venue staff, intimate in-studio performances, music and adult beverage pairings and more.

We at DCmusicpub.com believe that supporting local artists, and the local venues where those artists perform, is central to fostering vibrant communities. Musicians inject communities with fresh ideas, stimulate local economies, and have a blast doing it. When you buy that new EP from a local artist, you receive an artifact and improve your neighborhood’s quality of life in exchange for your daily Starbucks allowance. Not a bad deal, huh?

Staff
Brian Pagels, Founder & Bar Manager, is a Jersey-raised, NOVA-living, carpetbagging songster. He’s been writing and performing gritty, soulful acoustic tunes for a decade. Brian got his start playing Richmond bars with Through The Wall, and broke into the D.C. scene with Aussie-American outfit Coalition of the Willing. Recently, he’s been playing solo, as 1/2 of a reunited Through The Wall, and collaborating with other talented local musicians.

Matt Humphrey, co-founder and pub regular, has been enjoying the D.C. music scene since college, even when he didn’t live anywhere close to D.C. He enjoys frequenting the local clubs, looking for fresh talent. A behind-the-scenes guy, Matt writes for the Pub, drunkenly attempts to convince the bands to give us an interview, and packages everything up nicely into award-winning video features.
